Somatic Flow Practice, Somatic Movement Intelligence and Meditation through the lens of Somatic Experiencing held in my home studio Casa Buena. This is a gentle movement sequences that I developed through years of study and exploration drawing from my Movement Intelligence background combined with Hatha Yoga, and Somatic Experiencing. Through guided movement you will have a clear experiential understanding of how your unique nervous system moves and self regulates. These open sessions work with the primal movements of Movement Intelligence, and the fundamental principals of Somatic Experiencing- giving practical, simple tools and tips for Nervous system self care, and support for your life, family and community.
One to One Sessions
In 1:1 sessions we have the time to go deeper and work with the subtlies of 'what is emerging'. In these sessions slowing down is key. The focus, exploring with curiosity, kindness, and self compassion for the purpose of the resolution of trauma. Sessions work towards building greater resilience and capacity in the nervous system for the challenges of daily life, and for the pure enjoyment of resting in ones natural embodied presence. A healthy nervous system has more ability to regulate, coregulate, and set clear boundaries, to socailly engage, and to retreat when needed, as well as build more capacity and ease to meet life's challenges, and daily flucuations.
Somatic Experiencing ( SE ) is a refined body-based psychobiological approach that helps to support and restore resilience to the nervous system. Peter Levine's progressive work, along with Stephen Porges Polyvagel Theory of the nervous system, revolutionizes the understanding of how the Autonomic nervous System plays an integral part in the healthy functions of our mindbody. The relationship of the nervous system and it's role in the common human expressions of anxiety, depression, insomia, and addictions, is in part, the management strategies of the nervous system trying to survive and look for completion. This can create unhealthy and sometimes painful cycles. Somatic Experiencing slowly explores these trapped sensations that may be locked in the nervous system and help guide them through a process of gentle release and completion. The nervous system and whole being moving towards greater regulation, ease and wellness.
I have practiced Yoga for 30 years, and Somatic Movement Intelligence for 14 years. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practioner (SEP, with a private practice in the Byron Shire, NSW. I have completed the Somatic Experiencing, Healing Trauma Training in Brisbane, Australia and assist on SE Trainings. I have also completed Kathy Kain's Somatic Practice training. I offer sessions, classes and workshops of Somayoga, this is Movement Intelligence through an SE lens in a Yogic meditative environment. I also offer SE Touchwork sessions ( a 1:1 dialogue session is a pre-requisite). All of my sessions, classes and workshops are designed to support deep rest and rejuevenation within the space of of the body.
